A joint appeal by the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot journalists to the political leaders of both communities: “Do not let this opportunity be wasted”

The leaders of the Cypriot Journalists’ Union and the Press Workers’ Union, Basin Sen, jointly appeal to the leaders of both communities “not to let this opportunity provided by the United Nations be wasted”.
In their joint statement the two unions urge the leaders of the Greek Cypriot and the Turkish Cypriot communities, Nikos Anastasiadis and Ersin Tatar, to do their utmost so that the flame of hope for a solution and reunification of our homeland remains lit.
“The Cypriot journalists, Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, express the readiness but also the expectation, to record positive developments and positive results from Geneva. “We call on the political leaderships of the two communities not to miss this opportunity which is provided to us by the United Nations,” the statement concluded.
