“Golden” passports: Was the leader of DISY involved?

Was Averof Neophytou, the Leader of Democratic Rally (DISY), which is currently the governing party in Cyprus, involved in the “golden” passport affair?

Indeed he he was, according to an exclusive report appearing in Haravgi, the newspaper of the Working People’s Progressive Party (AKEL), making the top front page headline in its Sunday edition on 10th May 2021.

According to its report, Haravgi has “details which involve the president of DISY, Averof Neophytou, in the case of “golden” passports”.

Averof was sitting at the top table of a Henley & Partners conference in connection with passport marketing, Haravgi alleges.

Henley & Partners, “together with the company of his brother-in-law Dimitris Syllouris were involved in the naturalization of the Malaysian wanted criminal Joe Lowe”.

“Averof Neophytou, like the former Speaker of Parliament, Dimitris Syllouris, is said to have participated as a speaker in conferences organized by “Henley & Partners”, which is one of the leading service companies in the world and which participated actively in the Cyprus Investment Program”.
