The Tory government had no right to veto the presence of EU representatives as observers in the Geneva talks.
All Cypriots are EU citizens. Our EU membership has played an especially important role in terms of creating trust and a sense of security between our communities and would certainly play an equally important role in terms of making a post-solution regime viable, stable and functional.
With EU membership there would be absolutely no way of returning to miseries and barbarities such as those in 1964. It would not be possible for whatever fascist groups to play new games.
We would be making a truly fresh start. Our homeland would be truly independent and not subservient to so-called “mother countries”.
