UN Secretary invites Christodoulides and Tatar to a meeting on 13 August
The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, has been invited by the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, to a trilateral meeting on the Cyprus issue, with the aim of resuming talks.
During his speech at the annual anti-occupation event for Famagusta, held at the Cultural Centre in Deryneia, President Christodoulides revealed that he received an invitation from António Guterres for a trilateral meeting on the Cyprus issue on August 13th and emphasized that he has responded positively.
Mr. Christodoulides also mentioned that the leader of the Turkish Cypriots, Ersin Tatar, has not yet responded and expressed hope that his response will be positive.
